27 June 2014 - SWAT raids 1

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Remember this lesson: Policing must be fun. The “War on Drugs” sounds dumb, but it’s an ingenious way to let the bored officers blow off some little-needed steam, carrying guns and explosives on even minor drug raids. What’s still more enjoyable is that they’re not soldiers so the Geneva Conventions don’t apply: They get to wear face masks and unmarked uniforms like Green Men in Ukraine, and they don’t have to distinguish a category of civilians to avoid shooting. What, now you want a War on Calling Things “War”? That’s just self-contradictory.

clue:

I left out the armored vehicles. The U.S. military is giving away its bomb-resistant Afghanistan vehicles to police departments, which use them them for their resistance to garden gnomes.

give me a clue so sweet and true
