Malaysia Airlines: They won’t shoot at an airliner. It’s illegal.
newspaper: If true, it took a serious weapon system.
Malaysia Airlines: Lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same year.
newspaper: U.S. and European air safety authorities—
Malaysia Airlines: —don’t pay for my fuel.

clue:

I am again proven optimistic. I didn’t realize airlines would continue to fly through a conflict zone after credible reports of an aircraft being shot down at altitude. But most did.
