Progress?

Cyber deterrence works! It used to be that a puny country like North Korea could attack a high-profile entertainment company like Sony Pictures, but then America retaliated to establish deterrence and now it takes a great country like China to attack a “who’s that?” company like GitHub.

clue:

The attribution of the attack on GitHub is easy: It comes from China, it’s a man-in-the-middle attack that requires control of major network hardware, and it’s narrowly targeted at tools for evading censorship in China. If China’s government denies knowledge, we can laugh. A likely goal is to find out how much they can get away with.

give me a clue so sweet and true
