War is too expensive for amateurs and too dangerous for professionals (at least if you’re facing other professionals). That’s why we have proxy wars. When you need more trouble but you can put it off for a bit, you invest in a proxy to fail to carry out your wishes. As soon as it’s ripe, the proxy will bring you all the fresh-picked trouble.
