It’s common for a country to reform its writing system after a revolution. After the Americal revolution, American spelling rules were changed; after the Russian revolution, the Russians cut down their alphabet; after the Chinese revolution, the Chinese simplified their ideographs.

If a country’s writing is giving you trouble, travel there. Foment sedition.
