The great philosopher Immanuel Kant figured out what numbers are. He wrote, “Number is therefore simply the unity of the synthesis of the manifold of a homogeneous intuition in general.”

The second purpose of philosophy is to provide incomprehensible explanations of things that everybody already understands.
