When the gas gauge reads empty, do you analyze its workings, tap on the side
of the gas tank, peer into it through a borescope, weigh the car while
accounting for everything in it, run control experiments on identical cars,
and write up your findings for a peer-reviewed journal?
If you were a scientist, you would. You’d care about being right.
