I talked with a janitor about the future of technology. Nuclear weapons, jet aircraft, space travel, and computers had all arrived in his lifetime. He thought that was it; all the big flashy developments were used up, and from now on the improvements would be mainly behind the scenes.

Maybe that’s why he’s still a janitor.
