Three plans have been proposed for fixing the health care system. They are single-payer, in which the government does everything, play-or-pay, in which the government does everything that corporations don’t do, and managed competition, in which the government organizes regional cartels to do everything for it.

Nobody has proposed anything as radical as a free market. It’s considered too big a change.
