20 October 1998 - Microsoft lawyers

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

We all come from the mothership,
and to her we shall return.
We’re the troop of lawyers
representing Microsoft.

Hoof and horn, human form,
William Gates is not the norm.
Vine and grain, market gain,
He has kudzu on the brain.

clue:

I’m parodying a song popular among neopagans. Somehow it seemed appropriate for the Microsoft religious wars. The most popular versions begin “We all come from the Goddess.” The version that I first learned begins “We all come from the Mother Earth.” The original was written by Z. Budapest in 1972.

If you want to know the tune, ask your favorite witch or druid. It can be sung as a round, which makes perfect sense for this lawsuit, which is going to go around and around and around.

give me a clue so sweet and true
