The Académie française met today in extraordinary plenary session to consider the official French response to America’s renaming of french fries to “freedom fries”. Explained academician M. Trop Massive, “What the unregulated Americans term ‘french fries’ are Belgian in origin, and to associate Belgium with freedom is an insult that cannot go unchallenged.” Reporters have learned that among the options on the table is a proposal to rename mange-tout to “insufferable Americans”.
