Yet More on Danish Cartoons

Speaking as a member of the secret international conspiracy to assault Islam, I have to admit that I am worried. The cover story for vicious satire is that it is an attempt to right the wrongs of the world, to direct attention using ridicule. Ha, it’s so fun to watch them turn purple when they don’t get the joke! But in this case, the stupid misunderstanding is so deep and so obvious that some politicians are already calling for “press responsibility.” We’re going to have to assault those morons harder and see if we can cause a war. That would straighten things out!

You might imagine that in the Internet age cultures would slowly learn to understand each other. Apparently not. I often see claims from the Middle East that the West misunderstands Islam, and I don’t doubt it. To me, the misunderstanding in the other direction is glaring.
