Usually a theory that is crazy enough to be true is too crazy to be funded, but when it comes to theories of everything it is the other way around; work that can be funded is too crazy to be true. That’s why we need the news media, as a counterbalance to the Physics Establishment. The media likes people who are crazy enough to be interesting.
