The three sides of a fossil are the part, the counterpart, and the counterparty risk or asteroid; the past is signed in counterparts. But the three sides of a coin are the inverse, the obverse, and the reverse; you can take nothing at face value. Thus to display its value the coin of knowledge, struck by time, must be turned over repeatedly.
