16 August 2008 - cyberwar

One of the ideals of cyberwar is to let your government-funded
abuses of the network appear indistinguishable from the play of
nationalistic script kiddies. You won’t fool anyone who cares,
but to fool reporters is enough. We have to admire Putin’s
foresight in maintaining a high level of obscuring criminality
in Russian government and business. That’s the problem in the
U.S.—the turn toward evil was too sudden, leaving no time for
the corruption to build up.
