activist: Come along, I’m going to protest the ramming of the Ady Gil by evil Japanese whalers!
passivist: Oh? How does a ship ram a harassment boat that’s much faster and more maneuverable? A ship can only wreck a speedboat if the boat is reckless.
activist: Risk is fully justified to stop illegal whaling.
passivist: By illegal attacks against the equipment and crew. Tell me the name of your moral theorist, I need to know what not to read.
activist: These are whales we’re talking about!
passivist: Whose populations have partially recovered. Shouldn’t you focus first on species that are still dying out from runaway overfishing?
activist: But something must be done! Whales are charismatic!
passivist: I’m going back to bed. My contribution is to be the only person who’s not making things worse.
