14 February 2013 - poison and metal

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

I’ve got some good news and some bad news, and the bad news is that this starts off like a good news-bad news joke. But the good news is that you don’t have to worry about all the poison and metal in the modern world, because you need poison and metal to stay alive. In fact, the salt in your food is made of sodium, a metal, and chlorine, a poisonous gas used as a weapon in WWI. They’re both biologically essential. So the next time somebody tells you of the danger of lead paint, laugh in their face!
