Lesson of the Sequester

The framers of the U.S. Constitution deliberately designed the system to freeze up and do nothing when discord ran out of control. It was a safety measure; doing nothing is safer. They did not forecast that the Congress would be so foolish as to deliberately put itself into a position where doing nothing is the worst choice. Let that be a lesson to the designers of future governments. Note: This lesson does not apply the European Union’s government, which was never designed.
