In the old days, the most common computer programming task was debugging, fixing your own mistakes. That was depressing. Today the most common task is looking up how to do something, because other people have done so much debugging that it’s impossible to remember it all, and that’s even more depressing. Isn’t this exactly the work that computers were supposed to save us from?
