8 August 2013 - Erdos numbers

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

I leave this writing for mathematicians of the future who are distressed by their irrecoverably high Erdos numbers. Look at a map of the moon. Aren’t the Sea of Tranquility and the Sea of Serenity comfortably large, and isn’t the Sea of Crisis reassuringly small? It’s all wishful thinking, and the name “Pacific Ocean” is no better. There. Doesn’t that remind you of your life goal of making up stuff that is true?
