6 October 2013 - justified, necessary, proportionate

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

NSA surveillance is justified, necessary and proportionate: It’s justified by picking an item from a drop-down menu, it’s necessary by virtue of being useful, and it’s always proportionate because, by God, this is national security. I’m sure they don’t really do much that’s unlawful; interpreting laws they way they do, they can’t.

clue:

The “justified, necessary and proportionate” language is actually from the UK’s GCHQ.

take oh take this clue away
