If I tell you it’s highly efficient, what do you know about it? You might guess it’s biological and it evolved. If I add that it transfers large amounts of energy over long distances through a narrow beam, then you can tell for sure that it’s a machine. There you have it: Quasar jets in the centers of distant galaxies are artificial.
