27 July 2015 - Earth 2.0 2

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

And that’s all great, but do you know the best thing about Earth 2.0? The space age has taught us one thing above all: Every celestial body is different from every other. If you’re familiar with them, not one planet, moon, asteroid or comet can be mistaken for any other. Planets at another star, made from a different starting mix of materials, will be unlike ours. And that’s the best thing—when we’ve scraped together our billions to construct a huge enough space telescope to make out details on Earth 2.0, we’ll immediately see that it is shockingly alien, and that we have a lot more exploring to do.
