21 April 2017 - operationalize

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

The bureaucratese word “impact” has a purpose. “To impact” means affect, and “the impact” means the effect; the word’s purpose is to avoid looking stupid when you press the wrong key. But what about “operationalize”, which means to get (“operationalize a WMD”) or to do (“operationalize an impactive impact”, or effect an effect)? I think that “operationalize” is purely affective.
