Are electrons self-aware? How would you know, have you ever talked philosophy with one? If they are, then we don’t understand the physics; what is consciousness? If they are not, then consciousness arises from unconsciousness and we don’t understand how. The nature of our ignorance depends on a question that we can’t ask.
