The difference between a wonder and a blunder is that the blunders are left behind. That is called evolution. The wonders pile up and lock together and stay little changed. That is why human embryos have gill slits. A human is a veneer of recent adaptations over a stable frame of ancient adaptations, each a wonder in its day and each selected by chance and fitness for its niche at the time. So, for example, dinosaurs and mammals collected different adaptations over the vertebrate frame. Do you imagine that we can guess what space aliens might be like?
