Does Huawei networking equipment have Chinese backdoors? According to the UK security review, the answer is that there is no need. Huawei’s software is so ghastly that anyone could break in. It’s worse than the usual incompetence of hardware manufacturers who need software to make their stuff go; Boeing would be appalled; it’s at the level of voting machines whose builders don’t give a damn about votes.
