The deep state theory, so called because of its shallow state, holds that a secret conspiracy rules the world from behind the scenes. Or perhaps it is called that because any evidence for it is buried too deeply to ever discover--it’s that secret. In any case, today it is false, and you should not admit to believing it. But if you can convince enough others, then it becomes true, and the deep state is made up of the people who haven’t yet been convinced. Though of course, if that day comes, they’ll say they believe it.
