China says, “We have never bullied, oppressed, or subjugated the people of any other country, and we never will.” And you know, if you accept their vocabulary, it’s true. China defines the people it bullies, oppresses, or subjugates to be Chinese, whether or not they do themselves. Today it is Tibet, and Taiwan, and children in the diaspora who’ve never seen China. In a few decades it may be “Australia has always been part of China, and it is time to correct this historical aberration.”
