7 August 2021 - space alien 5

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

It is true, though, that the hypothesis “space aliens did it” has been often proposed and never proved. Some human was clever enough to think up how it could have happened by itself. And the hypothesis makes no predictions, because space aliens might do anything; you could blame us for global warming or for Tucker Carlson, and nobody can disprove it. The reasoning is accurate, we do do anything: Land radio transmitters on neutron stars, send semaphore signals by blocking starlight, sculpt passing interstellar objects into weird shapes, all those things. I have a question about the hypothesis, though. Now that I’m here and talking to you, will you accept it, or think up how my talk could have happened by itself?
