In the coming centuries, as humanity moves out into the solar system, every space station and minor outpost and vessel underway will be, like an Antarctic research station today, equipped with its own local time zone. The time system will grow as complex as the tax code, and only specialists will hope to understand it. The rest of us will come to appreciate time’s ineffable nature. Wow, I can’t wait until we have relativistic travel!
